Making Outlook Express default

Since I am having trouble with my ISP's webmail, I am considering making
Outlook the default mail handler. How do I go about it? The make Outlook
default button is grayed out.

Try opening up IE's options and under programs use the pull down menu to assign OE as your default mail handler.

If by any chance that won't work it may be because Outlook or Office was installed "over" OE. THIS (http://www.okinfoweb.com/moe/mail/mail_006.htm) explains how to get back your OE defaults.
