everytime i try to open a folder using windows explorer , the message error appears and states this program will now shut down , restart the
computer. Also i have had invalid page fault shell32.dll appear on occassions.
I have run virus scan, diagnostics and nothing is showing up , cannot
detect the fault. Is there a way of reinstalling windows explorer?
everything else on my PC appears to work normally.
Have recently downloaded the latest microsoft security updates for windows 98 , i don,t know whether this has any connection. please can anyone give
me some clear instruction on how to correct this, thanks.

Hi there heany
Have you tried running System File Checker (sfc)? If you have a corrupt system file this will find it for you and promt you to replace or repair it. (Go to run and type "sfc" - without the quotes - and the run it. You will need your win98 disk)

Welcome heaney089572
Do you have a Compaq and have you upgraded IE??

Explorer Caused an Invalid Page Fault in Module Shell32.dll (Q237888) (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q237888)

Yes; various upgrades have caused a number of problems.
