Hi, and welcome to the PC Guide Forums.
Does this login request come from Windows or the BIOS?
If it is the BIOS, go into the bios at bootup, note all the settings, and power down. Open the case, and either remove the battery or find the jumper labelled "Clear CMOS". This will clear the password from the bios. Replace the battery or jumper. Power up, go into the bios and check that all the settings are as you noted originally.
If it comes from Windows, i.e. after the windows splash screen, try booting with a floppy disk, searching the hard drive for a file *.PWL and renaming it to *.old That should remove the password and when prompted again, just hit "enter".

If it is a Windows password at the login hit enter it should go ahead and finish loading. After Windows finishes loading go to start-->find--> files or folders type in *.pwl if the search finds any file that ends in .pwl rename it to ?????.old or delete it. Reboot when Windows gets back to the login box just hit enter and it should not ask for for a Windows password again.
If it is a network logon password. need more info.
