A computer I worked on, is now getting my email. I fixed this computer and
never once did I leave my ISP username or password on the computer. The
guy who's computer it is even setup his own username and password with the same ISP provider but he still gets my email. I still get email but not what I used to. He has searched all over the computer looking for my name,
email address or something that say's me. Can find nothing. Where else can
I have them search? Is it in the register?

Forgive a "is it plugged in?" level of question, but you/he did check the Accounts settings under Tools in Outlook Express? I have never done it, but I understand that one can get their Hotmail stuff through OE too..maybe you accessed your email box while working on his puter? I have my Hotmail box configured so I don't have to reenter password. Like I said, I haven't ever done that so don't know if that "shows" under Accounts or not. And I just remembered that my son gets all his mail "through" Works somehow...which would require settings (maybe) in Works?

Have looked everywhere we can think of to find some hint of my email address. Nothing comes up.

About the only thing I can think of is to remove all the accounts and recreate them from scratch.....also disable "save passwords", autocomplete and any other convenience features, clear all the caches (Start Menu -> Settings -> Taskbar and Start menu -> Documents -> Clear), Internet Options -> Temp Internet Files -> Clear, Internet Options -> Content -> Autocomplete clear, both passwords and forms....

It seems too much of a coincidence that you are both using the same ISP. Perhaps they have stored info on a cookie or elsewhere that is being accessed. Do you have to use their software to dialup or do you use a straightforward DUN folder. If they utilise their own software I would uninistall and reinstall it and also delete and recreate the DUN folder(s). ISPs may also note the telephone number being dialled-from and react to this in a variety of ways. Does the ISP have any ideas??

Microsoft is notorious at hiding things; so other hidden places could be the OE identity folders and even address books, which are not actually deleted from the HDD when an identity is deleted from OE or on a reinstallation of OE.

BTW by running REGEDIT one can search the registry for any string within it.

If you are using Hotmail from OE. Yes it also has an account setup; very easy to do with just email address and password. The other Hotmail connection could be MSN messenger, which also can store access settings!

KayofCircles gets the prize. After reading the response and since I don't
use OE for my email, I went into OE to do some searching. It was then that it hit me, yes I did indeed put in my email address to make sure it would
send mail and it did. I failed to delete my account password and the other guy was looking all over IE instead of OE. Riddle solved. Thanks again to
