View Full Version : AOL Instant Messenger Glitch

My daughter's AOL IM stopped working. I uninstalled it, went out to aol.com and downloaded the newest version. It still doesn't work. I have not idea why it quit or what to do next. Any suggestions from anyone?

I'm guessing that you have Version 7 of the AOL software. Even if you have Version 6, what you might try is to reload the AOL software. In the setup program it will search for any other versions of AOL. Ignore and just follow the directions to install a second AOL program. When it asks you to copy your setting to the new version, do so. Later, you can go back in through the install disk and delete the original program if you desire.

I usually keep the older AOL version along with the the latest upgrade until I'm comfortable there are no glitches, and that all my Favorites and Email Addys have been carried over, then I delete to free up the disk space.
