I have several customers using NAV 2001 and 2002 with the auto update feature. We turn it on and it works for awhile and then we check it and it is simply turned off! They didn't do it and I didn't and one good customer got nimda because of it. I have heard of this happening with others on the net. Does any one know why this happens or have a cure?

Hi broncoapache,

It has happened to me at times. Those were times when I had let my update subscription run out. Are you sure their subscriptions are still active?

No that isn't it. They installs are pretty new and there is no virus's on the system. This problem is strange. It will stay on for awhile and then in a few weeks it is turned off again. Three or four different win98se machines have done this. Others on my newsgroup have also seen it but no one knows why it happens.

There is another thing you can try.

Click Start>Find Folders and Files>type in Settings.LiveUpdate>Click Find Now. Delete this file. Sometimes it becomes corrupted. Start up Norton Antivirus and it will create a new file.

Hope it helps. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif

What OS are they using? I'm using XP with NAV 2002 and I had the same problem. It took 2 installs to get it working. It's been running fine since.

As I said above all these are win98se machines. I would hate to have to just keep uninstalling and reinstalling. There must be a reason!
