Does anyone know if the Mopy Fish screensaver is spyware? Ad Aware does not detect it as such but I recently installed it and, after two years of being spam free, I suddenly started getting it on a daily basis. After a couple of weeks I uninstalled and have received no more spam. Coincidence?

I've run the Moby fish screensaver for a few years now on various computers. Never had any pop-up ads or spam.

Thanks, Ghost. Maybe it was just my week or so in the barrel and it was coincidental. I have had one other person tell me that the same thing happened to them, tho. I guess one out of two is neither good or bad, eh?

Thanks for the info, mj. Interesting site, yours, too. I'll be checking it out further.

Surely the way round this (if you wish to continue running the program) is to disallow it internet access in ZoneAlarm or similar.

I had already done that, Mike. I would never grant a screensaver internet access. But not to worry, all is well. I got a little bored with the creature after a couple of weeks anyway so I just flushed him down the toilet like you would any troublesome goldfish. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
