I replaced my CPU recently and my system still won't boot up to the bios setup and there is nothing that comes up on my screen. I have a asus f3b-f motherboard, 700 Mhz PIII Processor, 32mb video card, and a 40gig harddrive, and 256mb. I checked all the jumper settings and reconnected everything else. Do I have a bad motherboard? Any help would be appreciated.

you said that you have replaced your cpu which means that you have an older cpu for your system right? all you need to do to boot up to the setup screen is the motherboard, cpu, ram and video card. just connect those and try to boot it up. if nothing comes on, use your older cpu. if that boots up, the problem could be from your new cpu. if you have older parts(video card, ram), try swapping them too. if none of them work, contact Asus tech.

If you can still boot the system up with the "Old" cpu, then it is NOT a defective mobo.......it would then have to be a defective cpu chip (the new one) or MORE LIKELY (in spite of your care) incorrect jumper settings (most likely the multiplier or the "core" voltage). Your motherboard is capable of handling the new chip isnt it?
