If you're thinking of upgrading a mobo CPU thoroughly check out the mobo REVISION. I was really chuffed when I acquired an Asus P2B mobo - only to find that it's revision 1.10 can't cope with "modern" CPUs. Asus P2Bs come in two varieties: rev 1.12 and above, and the "much less valuable" lower revisions. This apparently applies to quite a lot of late 90s mobos.

Just a tip from my experience.
