With the PC connected to the mains, the green power LED flashes slowly. When I press the power button to the PC, nothing happens and the LED still flashes.

I've already tried removing hardware components, but still nothing happens when I switch it on.

My guess is you will need to post a BIT more info. for anyone to help you unless we have some mind readers in the group http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif . Let us know if you are unable to power up your system, what type of computer it is, the Operating System and whether its a new system or you are just replacing the motherboard or whatever......Thanks!

If you have an ATX style motherboard, you probably have the connector from the motherboard to the on/off switch on the wrong posts on the motherboard. If you have a Motherboard Manual, it will show you the correct placement of all the connectors.

Sorry for the lack of info. The PC is about 3 years old and the specs are as follows:

Pentium 2 - 300Mhz
64MB RAM
ATC-6220 Motherboard
32x CD-ROM
Voodoo 2 video card
Vibra 16 sound card

This PC is also switched on most of the time as I use it at work. Nothing happens at all when the POWER or RESET switch is pressed. Nothing on the motherboard appears to be dislodged, but the green LED remains flashing slowly.

I've already tried removing Plug and Play hardware, and replacing IDE cables.

Thanks
Del

If the unit powered up (the power supply that is) in the recent past and you HAVEN'T CHANGED ANY WIRING......then the Power Supply is likely defective and needs replacing....It's actually pretty easy to do on an ATX system......4 screws......pull the plug to the mobo and the plugs to CD,HD, & floppy and put the new one in the same way the old one was and power up http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Thanks. It worked, but the system is still a bit shakey. The PC is still under warranty, so I'll send it back for them to check it out.

Thanks
