Something very strange happened to me today. (well not that strange, really, but it's still worth mentionning)

When I got into work this morning, my colleague switched on her PC and the first thing it did was find new hardware and re-install her VGA card and monitor.

Then when I got home this evening my PC did exactly the same thing!

Neither PC's have done this before. Neither had been tampered with beforehand and neither have exhibited any other problems before or since.

Did this happen to anybody else today? Is there a March 23rd virus which causes this to happen?

A case for Mulder and Skully, I think!

Damn, and here I was thinking I got away with it. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

But seriously, that is a mighty strange occurrence indeed. That just doesn't seem possible, without a little helping hand from somebody or something. Wow, if you ever get it figured out, let us know.

Did the rest of the UK experience the same thing? The only thing I can think of that would possibly affect two totally different machines in two totally different places is a power spike.

Oh, and thanks Randy, for thinking of me. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Cheers,

I think Randy did it and he's trying to pass the blame off on us. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
