Anyone know when UT2 is being released? Can't find it in the stores yet and my online store has a preorder set until the end of July! I can't wait that long for DX8 goodness!!

Sorry all for the confusion. I know that they changed the name to UT 2003, but for some reason that fact didn't make it to my post. Oops!
Well shoot, I was hoping it would be here before late July, but alas perhaps this is for the best. I really should cut back on my game spending. ;) Oh well, back to playing the original UT...

UT2 will now be released in August:(
I take a delay in game releases as a good sign that the producers want to make sure they release a quality product instead of rushing an unpolished product to the market, Project IGI case in point:mad:

Well, at least this gives me more time to save up for that new graphics card! :D I read an AnandTech article recently about 19 different graphics chipsets and how they performed with the Unreal Warfare engine. Suffice to say that, with my current card, I can expect to get good performance, with 16-bit color and all the details set to medium or lower at 800 x 600! I'm far too used to playing games with 32-bit color at 1280 x 1024, I guess, so it's off to Newegg's site!
Project IGI case in point:mad:
Yeah, I heard that game really blowed big time! They're trying again and the second one has gotten better press. I think after the first IGI got bashed by just about everyone they figured they should do it better and let everyone know!

A lot of the particular UT community that I hang in has gone on hiatus til the UT2K3 release....our ladders are still cooking...just not as busy as was :(
Several of the clans have plans for migration to the new stuff...and some of us are even hopeful to keep the original going ;)
Good luck on that video card hunt...whip out the wallet! I'm gonna have to do a little upgrading on my end as well...the GF2 MX 400 32MB aint gonna cut it...LOL

Yep, I just saw that on another website. Why must they torture us so? They have now pushed it back a full two and a half months since I've been tracking it! :( All I can say is that it better be rock solid with no multiplayer/network problems. And I hope they improved the .ini & console commands to allow us to have more control over dedicated server mode (for testing maps and such).
Ah well, back to the first UT...

I think the latest release date is pretty firm. There was suppose to be a demo of the game released before then, but it hasn't appeared above ground yet either.Sept. isn't too far off.Everyone have their new video cards installed? This one is crying out for a GeForce 4 TI. :D
