My grand-daughter wants me to download one very important file from an iMacOS9 I simply want to know if it is possible.

Downloading the file shouldn't be a problem at all if the iMac speaks some standard protocol like FTP. If the file is an executable program however, you're not going to be able to run it on your PC.

Here (http://www.asy.com/files.htm) is one of the problems you face without the use of the software I mentioned earlier....

So basically it depends on what kind of file it is.

Ive always wanted to know how to do that. Ive got a PC and an iMac and i've always wanted to transfer files.
What is this special software??

Addendum:

According to some of what I have recently seen about the newest release of OSX, it will have better network support for neteorking to a windows machine, no third party apps needed.
