anyone understand this, sometimes i can connect to some sites & times i cannot even if i had just been there a few minutes before, what i get is "page cannot be displayed cannot find server DNS Error." did a Network adapter check with RR. Failed: Did not find a Nic/Ethernet Adapter.
Nic Bindings check,Failed: Did not find a Nic/Ethernet Adapter bound to a TCP/IP stack??
Once i get one site to connect I can usuall go back to the one that did not and it will connect??
I have set everything back to default got rid of cookies and Internet files still the same? Do i have a failing ethernet card? becouse the nic is disabled I'm on cable.

If your NIC is disabled you will get that "can't find server or DNS...page can't be displayed" error.

That's the first thing I would check.

Good Luck :)

GH Even though it's not being used for anything? I'll re enable it and see what happens.

XP and 2000 have a wierd dns caching system and the disabled NIC might cause problems.

Here's a link that might help:

Scroll to the bottom and take a look at "negative DNS caching"

beat me to it GH!

a wierd dns caching system is right!

I can't get rid of one NIC even in safe mode- it is NOT used for anything, in fact it is no longer physically installed!!-

but if I "disconnect" or disable it- I can't connect

it's working (and well too) so I leave it alone!
