Can anyone tell me how to fix an AMD Athlon 500mhz 'MOTHERBOARD' board which randomly restarts for no reason without any commands, and also crashes in windows (any version), I think these are related.
Thanks

Does your motherboard have temperature sensors and a way of getting a reading from them?
If so post back with the temp, I bet it is a little on the high side, most often problems like yours are heat related. You can try running the computer with the case opened and a fan blowing on it to see if that helps. You can also see if the fan on the processor is running or needs to have the dust cleaned off of it (I'd use compressed air for that, from a can for cleaning computers). If it had worked properly in the past then dust build up or fan failure/slowdown would allow heat to build up......

Well i am monitoring the temp in cmos, and its cpu is 35c/95f deg. the sys temp is 31c/87f!
I will take the cover off and cool it down, also the vcore voltage is at 1.6v, just thought that may interest u.
THanks for your help, but I don't think thats it.

Well I doubt its cpu heat with those temps.....however, it could be the Power Supply is dying (it could be full of dust and overheating itself)...there is an OUTside chance it's memory.....but I believe its the PS.....get some canned air and blow it out....let us know...you might have to replace it pretty soon and go to a 300 watt unit anyway.
