mouse problem again Plz reply???

Hi, I have a Ps2 mouse installed in my windows 98SE,it worked fine for a few days. The same still works fine in Windows 2000,but I find a probelm in win 98. The mouse motion settings is set to the "Slowest" every time the system boots in win98SE. Each & every logoff or reboot causes this error. Each & every time I have to go to the mouse settings & change the motion to "faster" or "medium". I tried reinstalling the mouse driver,but didn't solve my problem.Please help me solve this problem.

1. when you go into the mouse settings and change then are you clicking on APPLY?

2. can you post back with what the error message says.

Yes I click on the "apply" button before setting "OK", but this is valid only for the current session.Actually I don't receive any error message.The problem is the mouse motion is set to the slowest speed.

has windows picked up the mouse or have you installed software for it, you using that software to change the setting?

i dont know if this will work, remove the mouse from SYSTEMS reboot and let windows pick it back up.
