Hi friends- :)
I am trying this for two reasons.
1. I have been very curious about this ever since we started using the new boards.
2. I have never tried the Yes! Post a Poll option and wanted to see how it worked :D
Like (I think it was Buck) says: Just havin' fun!
Of course, your vote is anonymous- But feel free to comment below why you voted the way you did!
Thanks!!!

For the two of you that checked "What the heck is Invisible Mode", just hang in there a little while longer (unless you're pullin' my leg) :D
I wondered if some people didn't know about it, and if I tell you, I won't get to wonder anymore. :) HeHe
Don't worry though, it's certainly nothing monumental that will effect your future.....of is it?
I know, some of you are probably thinking- "Why doesn't this guy get a life"?
Boy, that ought to get a response:D (Actually, I often wonder that myself!)
Have a great evening!

I think some of it might be a personality thing. I am a bit reclusive by nature, and much more comfortable chatting by phone or email. After all, I can do the latter in my robe and slippers, you know? Sans makeup..lol. Plus, specifically in this case, I was WAY uncomfortable with the ability for others to know "where" I was in the forum, and for how long..:) That might be my nature, or it might be a female thing, but it reminded me of that song with its lyrics "every move you make, every step you take, I'll be watching you!".....

Hi Kay! - Really nice to see you! :D
Voters- OK, I know the suspense is just killing you -(Yea right) so, here it is:
Invisible Mode?
"Selecting yes allows you to surf the forums without appearing in the 'Logged In Users' list".
You can reach this and other settings in the user cp button at the top of the forums. (Edit options)
When you select no, besides being visible in the users list, the little checkmark next to your profile in a post is "lit up" as opposed to darkened.
But please, keep voting- This is kinda fun! :)
Have a great day! :D

I have NEVER felt the need to post invisibly. I am shy by nature also but who cares if my pc is in a reply or some toher spot for a long time. Maybe I'm feeding or letting the cat out, gone to the store and didn't want to lose my place. There's always the john or the refridgerator too.
Also I sometimes have SEVERAL sites open at once and may forget to move around here much or I may be busy posting or shopping elsewhere. Oops gotta run, someone in mIRC beckons me...
BTW who would know to PM you if they couldn't see you are there? Yes I know they can always read it later but I rather LIKE the feature you bunch a WALL FLOWERS! :D
Just kidding, ;)

Did not know what is was, but I never felt need on this forum. This site is the best. I am 50 and have looked at alot of sites, and this is the only one that is like home.
Great Job
Sorry I got off track.

If you visit here between 9:00am and up until 1:00am or 2:00am (est-usa-canada) you will most likely see me listed as here- I may not be physically looking at or posting- I just keep a browser open with the forums all the time.
I saw no reason to become invisable.
I have not been bothered or inundated with IM's- just a couple short ones and no requests-lol-, nobody seems inclined to abuse that feature either,

Same as Sea, I spend a lot of time here..I don't leave a browser open all day, but I'm online and here on the forums 4 hours a day or more usually..the only reason I considered invisible at all was to check and see if it actually works. As a member of Admin, I need to know these things...otherwise, no, I've never used invisible and probably never will.
Can't think of a reason I'd want to hide from the people I've been working with every night for up to 1 1/2 years in some cases...I also have not been inundated with PMs, I think 4 since the vBulletin software was installed, total. Each of those had a good reason to send me the PM.
For those of you who are more concerned about having some privacy, I think the invisible mode is a great thing. If you're more comfortable here going incognito, by all means Go for it!!

Not "hiding", just continuing the way it was before. And rather fond of the whole "stealth" concept for the Net..my uncle has issued numerous warnings, and was very displeased with me for posting my Hotmail addy here. Definitely not about the regulars here...but it is a public forum and there are "bad guys" or "gals" cruising the Net. I had an unpleasant experience back when I was a newbie to the Net and visiting a chat room, so may have a different slant on it.
Thanks, Sea and Pete ...I have been very curious as to how the PM stuff was working. I was concerned that you would have newcomers bugging you while you were trying to post..so appreciate the comments, and glad that it didn't happen.
