hmmmm...confusing XP issue

Okay - I just wanna play Everquest (stop laughing) and I just installed XP on a brand new machine...lo and behold the game won't install. I keep getting a component transfer error. so i tried to copy the contents of the cd to a temporary folder...then tried to open up the zip folder. apparently there is some issue with .cab files in XP because they don't conform to the 98 standard - yadda yadda yadda.

is there something i can do to actually get this game to install on my PC? or am i really out of luck here. Supposedly, the game is compatible with XP.

Your probably out of luck..although if you say its "supposed" to work with XP do a google search www.google.com and search for everquest XP may find some others with the same problem..or you can always do a dual boot of 98 and XP.
