Speaker/sound Problem

Hi everyone,
I got a problem with this speaker icon on the bottom right: it doesn't show!! I went to control panel, sound & multimedia, but the "show speaker icon" is grayed!! I have no sound at all by the way.
This desktop has both WinXP and Win2000 with a dual boot. The speakers work under XP, but the problem appears with 2000.

I guess the problem comes from the sound card, but now I don't have any CD to reinstall it under 2000... :confused:

Any idea?

Hi Lau,

Sounds like perhaps a driver issue with the Sound Card and Win2k. If you go to the manufacturer's web site they might have the driver available for download that's compatible.
