Hello to all,
delayed reaction from my computer.
There is at least one minute delay after I click on start-control panel-performance £ maintanance-system-(delay begins)-system properties box appears.
This happens as soon as the computer boots up.after the delay every thing works ok.
My operating system-xp pro,
Could someone please help to resolve this problem.

Hi Robert006
Sorry, no I don't have an answer for you but I have been following your post with interest.
I have XP pro too, (NTFS) and while my delay is certainly nowhere near that long, I have noticed more of a delay that I used to with 98/me.
I think it has to do with NTFS as opposed to FAT32 (a bit slower), but I replied so it wouldn't get left in the dust and maybe someone with some more knowledge than me, (which is just about everyone :D ), may have a theory on that. ;)

hello jabarnutcase,
Thanks for your reply. The problem,I think had to do with the graphics card driver.
It is an asus gforce4 card, along with it came a driver disk so the driver for this card is either well out of date or not quite suitable,in any case,I went into nvidia website and loaded the latest driver, since then it has worked very well also I must admit that I down loaded tons of windows updates from Microsoft at the same time, between the two down loads I could n't possibly with certainity say which one has cured the problem but it has and every thing is working fine also quite fast.
I used to watch the bar with three blue segments that move along and counted them before the log on screen appeared,it used to be 22 times, now the log on screen is displayed just after 4.
I do not know what you make of that.
Thanks once again.
