windows 2000 or xp professional?

I'm about to upgrade my OS to windows 2000, for stability reasons. Someone told me that windows xp professional is better, and that it is as stable as W2K. Can anybody tell me his/her experience regarding this?:confused:

The only reason to go to Xp pro over 2000 is better driver and hardware support. Otherwise built on same structure.

Or the Dual CPU support in XP pro go with that

Other wise stick with 2K
