Hi All. I'm a new guy on the block.

I looked at similar posts but could not find the answer to my problem specifically.

I have "successfully" installed my USB Plug and Play Logitech Pro 3000 Web Cam on my XP Home Edition. I am using a Gateway Solo 1450 Laptop.

The video output played intially for about 30 seconds and then froze.

Checking my IRQs if find that there are no fewer than 7 (!) devices at address IRQ 10.

However, when I try to move the USB controller to another address, I see that the "change setting" option is greyed out.

How can I solve this problem? Below is a list of my IRQs:

0 System timer
1 Standard keyboard
4 COM1
6 Floppy disk controller
8 System CMOS
9 Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System
12 Alps Pointing Device
13 Numeric data processor
14 Primary IDE
15 Secondary IDE
5 ESS Allegro PCI Audio
10 GTW V.92 Voice Modem
10 Intel 82801CA/CAM SMBus Controller 2483
10 Intel 82801CA/CAM USB Unversal Host Controller 2482
10 Intel 82801CA/CAM USB Unversal Host Controller 2484
10 Intel 82830M Graphic Controller-0
10 Intel PRO/100 VE Network Connection
10 02Micro 0z6912 CardBus Controller

Thanks for your help

Hello Joel47,

Welcome tohttp://www.pcguide.com/ubb/pcgubb.gif Forums!

What I would suggest doing is shutting down any programs that might be running in the background...as a first course of action. USB and most PCI devices don't have a problem sharing IRQ's like the old Legacy devices.

Thanks for starters.

What background programs should I be looking for. And if it is not a sharing problem, do you have any other ideas.

Thanks

I'd shut down everything but Systray and Explorer and then just run whatever software you need to operate the camera. That way you'd be able to see if it was anything software creating the problem.

Unless there is a known issue it pretty much becomes a trial and error, process of elimination kinda deal. ;)
