At the moment I have Windows ME & Windows 2000 installed onto two partions on my HDD. I have just installed Re Hat Linux 5.1 onto a spare partition on my hard drive and will boot OK from a Linux boot disk.
Following advice from a Linux HOWTO notice I have managed to strip the LILO and creat a BOOTSECT.LNX file which is on the boot partition and I have also modified the BOOT.INI to "see" the Linux file.
When I boot my PC and try to load Windows ME or Windows 2000 it loads without problems. However when I try the Linux option the system hangs with an "L" in the top left corner of my screen.
Another problem I have is that when I boot from the Linux disk and then exit Linux, when I reboot my PC the secondary slave device (CD-RW) is not detected by the BIOS. I have to go into the BIOS and re-detect all the devices.
I hope that someone, somewhere will be able to help with this headache.
