XP and IE6 prob, hyperlink colours don't change

Once I click on a link either on a web page or even a post on a forum, the colour does not change like it used to in 98se?. So now I don't know which links I've been to, and which links I haven't??
Anyone got any ideas?....BTW I'm new to XP and still finding my way around the menus;)
