Hi jshaver-
First off, it would sure help if you post what kind of motherboard you have! (Manufacturer, model etc.)
Then, I'm sure someone here will recognize it and have an answer, or if not, simply going to the manufactures website will give you all the specs you need.
If you don't know their site, generally a search with google or another search engine will help you find it.
If you don't know what kind it is, that's a different story. But people here can help you figure that out too! :)

Duh, of course! ;) I went to http://pcpitstop.com and it told me I have a PCCHIPS M598 9.0 motherboard, with a Cyrix MII 333mhz processor. What does that mean though?

Well, here (http://www.pcchips.com.tw/) is the website for PCChips. (You should be able to find it there)
And here (http://www.via.com.tw/en/viac3/cyrix_MII.jsp) is info on your processor. Which is made by VIA technologies and has a "Clock speed" of 333mhz.
(I wont get into that right now) :)
Someone can enlighten you further if needed after you look through those websites.:D
jshaver, I can't seem to find that exact model but I'm not so sure you can upgrade your processor much without upgrading your motherboard too.
Anyone else?
