I'm having problems getting 2 computers networked, both computers can see each other but when you try and access one of the other computers drives I get a error that says the the location isn't accesible and you may not have permission to use this network resource, then it says not enough server storage is available. I know it's hooked up right because it's sharing dsl and it was working fine with windows me on both computers i'm just kind of confused with xp. I set full access to all of the of the drives on both computers, i'm pretty sure I set the right protocalls, both computers should be under the same workgroup, and I did the home network wizzard and I can't think of anything else to try.

Thanx

Hi, this is something I found on the net:

"If the Internet Connection Firewall is enabled on a local area network connection with other computers, it will block File and Printer Sharing. This is probably the most common problem in Windows XP networking."

Both computers are xp pro and their on a hub, and where would I disable the internet connection firewall?

I think what you need to do is go to my computer, right click on the drive or folder that you want to share and choose "sharing and security...". Click on the sharing tab. Click on "If you understand the risk..." (drives only). Check the box "share this folder on the network"(same for drives and folders) check (or uncheck) the "allow network users to change my files" (depending on how trusting you are). Choose apply, a hand should appear under the drive or drives in "my Computer" indicating the drive is being shared. Repeat this process for each drive on both systems that you want to share. Before you do this be sure to have a firewall running because if you don't you will be sharing your drives with the rest of the internet.

I also caution against sharing drives or folders with sensitive data and system drives. If you only have one drive make a folder and share it instead of the whole drive.

I'm still having the same problems and could it be because i'm not signed in as the adminstrator on either computer because each computer logs into an account that isn't the administrator account. If that could be the problem is there some kind of settings that i can change to fix it.
