I'm running Windows 2000P, and wish to remove a program that starts automatically. I have un-installed the program, but it still exists in the startup. I can find it in "System Information", but can find no way of removing it.

Thanks in advance.

You'll have to find the regestry string and and do it in there Make sure you do a Back up before editing the registry

Hello Bumpus,

HERE'S (http://www.jv16.org/) my favorite for Registry editing. It works with Win2k, and it's very user friendly! :)

Once installed, I set the OPTIONS>REGISTRY CLEANUP>METHOD>Change from AUTO to MANUAL so I can see what it finds. I need to select and delete at that point, but I like to know what kind of debris it digs up. It also makes an automatic backup by default.

I use it religiously after any software installs...and so far it has never come up empty handed!

You can also have it search for duplicate files. It's really a great program to become familiar with.
