I'm going to buy a cpu, m/b, case and memory and build up a new pc.
Since i'm on budget, it's gonna be a Celeron 1.1Ghz
The Motherboard i'm looking at is the Soyo SY-7VBA133U
(look at http://www.soyousa.com/products/proddesc.php?id=12)

Would the Celeron work at it's real speed on this one? (i've been told that the motherboard supports Celeron up to 900Mhz, but it's not stated in the description)
I'm also gonna buy 128Mb pc133 ram memory (Kingston, it's one of the best right?)
I'll use my old 4GB & 10GB Maxtor HDD, my Geforce2 MX200, winmodem and USB pci card.

Any recomendations at all?

Alejandro,

I'm not going to claim originality on my part for this question, but "For what purpose will you computer be used?"

Are you a gamer, use your computer for music listening, word processing, video or graphics work? You get the idea...;)

I'll use it with every game i'm able to run!!
I know, it's not the best gaming machine, and newer games simply won't work, but it's far best than my previous machines! As long as i can run decent racing games, FPS's, and the Sims i'm VERY happy.
Besides, i can't spend more money!
This upgrade costs me u$s 270, what converted to my currency is a lot of cash, around here computers are getting more and more expensive as the dolar rises.
I'll primarily use it for gaming, but also listening to music, ripping mp3, playing DivX movies, using internet when it's urgent (if not i wait to the next day and enter from here at work with DSL), recording cd's if i get my recorder fixed and programming.
Also it's imperative for me to use WindowsXP, at least to learn it and have an idea of how it works, then i can wipe it off :)
By the way, does my GeForce 2 mx200 with 32MB (Pine model PV-TO7L) have DVD decompressing?
However, don't get it wrong: i'm not a HARD gamer that has to run every game that is lauched. Far from it.

I've already bought the stuff. However, i'm awaiting for the manufacturer to refill the SY7vba133U stock, so i'll be building the computer by the next week.
Meanwhile, i'd like to know if the diference between a Celeron and a Pentium III FCPGA would be highly noticeable or just a bit more performance. I've read that the Celeron is actually a Pentium III with half the cache size (128 instead of 256). Is this true?
Thanks
