Everytime my system boots up and i reach the desktop, the computer
freezes up within one minute. By accident, I found that I can get
around this problem by starting up my fm radio card immediately
upon reaching the desktop. if i don't start my radio card,
the system freezes up.
Any suggestions on how to stop the freezing?

whats a radio card? Sounds like a short on the mobo or a funky power supply, but you are throwing me with the "radio card" thing http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
Were you just in the chat channel?

It's a card that lets me listen to fm radio on my computer.
It's similar to a tv card to watch tv on my computer- which
I also have installed.
I have never been in the chat channel. Don't even know
where it is...

Sounds like it might be timing out if the radio card is not already active when you start. Do you have any configuration options on the radio card?
Are you running the card aat start up? If you can try disabling the card at startup and run once Windows is fully loaded.

I DOUBT IT HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE FREEZING UP PROBLEM AT STARTYP.
BY JUST DUMB LUCK DID I FIND THAT WHEN I TURN MY COMPUTER ON, THE
RADIO CARD WILL PREVENT THE SYSTEM FROM FREEZING AT STARTUP.

What program do you have configured to use the card? Does automatically want to start playing or do you have to select a station and start it manually? Was it working recently (with the card installed)?

A little more info about your system would also be helpful.

I'd say the radio card seems suspect (even though it may seem the opposite!). Try removing it, or check a FAQ from the radio card's manufacturer. Obviously the problem is related to it somehow.
