iisbob I can't really argue with you that the average computer user [whoever that is, I assume someone who does email, surf and plays an occasional game] would see no benefit from
raid 0. On the other hand if you look at what a lot of us put into getting extra performance out of processors, mobos, video cards [in the $400 price range] etc, the extra overall performance [of about 10%] and the disc performance [of about 50% for working with audio and video] is definetly worth it to me. And when the next generation of hard drives comes out I'll probably plug 'em right into my RAID 0.
