Has anyone tried it? It seems stable enough, but it can't handle the graphic buttons of PC Guide and Hotmail. Probably affects other sites too.

Tried it and wasn't too impressed and then it po'ed me that it threw this terrible skin onto my winamp player. Still using Opera and sometimes Mozilla for sites that demand cookies.

What do you mean by " but it can't handle the graphic buttons"?

Do you mean that you click and go nowhere or that it won't display them properly, or both/neither?

Gallaeglagh,

I suppose the skin thing would be easy to fix, but i think that since NS and WinAmp are both owned by AOl they may be going for the same look/feel XP sort of thing.....

I just felt it was rude and the skin was the ugliest thing.

The buttons work, but only display as text. Maybe I can post a sample.

Here is a sample. I know things were displaying OK yesterday, but for some reason, it is filtering out all graphics.

Right click on one of them and see if it says "unblock images from this server".

(not sure if that is something that is in NS7...but NS and Mozilla do have alot of the same features....)

I do not see that option. It was displaying web pages properly yesterday, but now affects all. I sent them a problem report.

Ok, look under your prefs and see what options you have for image display/control.....

I just went to Appearance, Fonts, toggled Display Resolution from 72 dpi to 96 dpi and graphics came back. I can go back to 72 and they are still working.

hmmm.....that is interesting.

I wonder if it got confused over the resolution and decided not to render the images?

It got more interesting. When I closed and relaunched Netscape 7, the graphics were gone again. This time, switching the dpi did not bring back the graphics, but when I clicked on the PCGuide posting message in Hotmail, when Hotmail opened PCGuide in a new window, graphics are there. When the new window is closed, the graphics are gone.

Netscape's own web page does not display properly either.

This is what I am describing above. Well, enough of this experiment. I am going back to Opera and IE.

Yep, I'd say not quite ready for prime time yet.....
