Hi,

let me give you the chronological sequence of events.

- my brother who stays 450km's away buys a second hand P111
- 5 weeks of battling, card changing etc cannot get the thing to boot
- he then sends the PC up to me. Discover that the 256M Ram cannot be run in this MOBO and substitute for 2 x 128M. PC boots NO PROBLEMS. PC WORKS.
- send PC back to brother and it exhibits exactly the same problems as when he first had it.
- it appears to be a POST problem as when the Video card is plugged out and the PC is booted there is no Bios beep as would be expected.

IF THIS IS THE CASE WHY WAS I ABLE TO GET THE THING TO WORK? THE ONLY THING THAT HAS CHANGED SEEMS TO BE THE MONITOR.

Please help

Andrew

Hi,
No real solution but some suggestions:
Is possible that there is an intermittent connection on the mobo? is the mobo well supported? could something be causing an intermittent short?
cheers,
MW
