Sharing my good news

Howdy Gang,

Just wanted to share with ya'all.

Most of the oldtimers around here will remember when I graduated from college.

Several months later, I started talking about studying for, and taking, the Uniform CPA examination.

Well, I passed the dang thing! Woohoo!

Actually, it took me two trys. With a full-time job and an active lifestyle, I found it very difficult to find the time to study. I passed two sections last year and did well enough on the other two sections that I failed to meet the conditional pass requirements. That meant I only had to take the two sections over that I failed. (If a person does below a certain level on the flunked exams, then he/she has to take the entire four-part exam over)

So I sat for the exam for the two failed sections last May, and had to wait all this time to find out my grades. I had very little chance to study this time around, too, but thankfully I passed with grades that are the average for passers of the exam.

Anyways, you cannot imagine the sense of relief I feel right now. I never have to take that exam, ever again. Woohoo!!!!

what is the Uniform CPA examination?

Jiggy: It's the exam for Certified Public Accountant.

It's analagous to the Chartered Accountant status in your country.

Had a bad experience yesterday. Was involved in four car crash. Long story, but suffice to say some bonehead pulled out in front of me whilst I'm doing a good 50 miles per hour or more. We were all approaching a stop light on the open highway. There were four of us in the left-hand lane going along at a purty good clip. Light changed to yellow and lead car slams on their brakes. I knew I wouldn't be able to stop in time so swerved into right lane that at the moment was clear. Bonehead ahead of me in left lane decides to change lanes. I bounce off him and go sailing thru intersection and hit light pole, then slam into SUV who then bounces over and hits the car next to them.

Airbag saved my life, but my mint condition 1991 dark blue Mercury Grand Marquis is demolished. (Thank God I wasn't driving my Caddy) They took me to the hospital for abrasions, shock, a deep belly wound from when the airbag raked the soda bottle I had inbetween my legs across my stomach making a nice big gash, and a badly sprained ring finger on left hand. Can't type too well today.

Funny thing is, in the split second it took for all this to happen, all I could think about, besides thinking I was a goner, was Oh Crap, I just passed the CPA exam and now won't be able to put it to use.

Still in shock today and feeling bruised and battered. Thank God I'm still around to feel that way though. And thank God nobody but me was hurt.

I'll second that Pianorak! There aren't enough good men around that we can afford to lose one! Get well Soon BB. Study for the Law exams while you recover - then you can sue the b***** who started it!

It's amazing in life how fast "sharing your good news" can become "sharing your bad news". We just never know from one day to the next....Make each day count.

Look at it this way concerning the crash...

Everything happens for a reason. Now you get
some time to hang around home and build yourself
another PC.

Now I know why you havn't been posting as much as you used to- I will never forget the times you came through with an answer for me when I first got here, and how friendly you always have been.

The car crash as one mentioned was an accident- or was it?

generally one door isn't shut without at least one more opening back up!

CONGRATS on passing your exams. I can't imagine having to retake tests you passed just because you failed the latest one. (YIKES)

hi BIGBlue, i know how it feels after an accident. Totally shaken and stirred. All you need is support -physical (if you have broken a bone or two ;) )and mental.
