I recently compiled a computer consisting of:

420 Watt PS
Tyan Tiger S2460
2 AMD MP 1800+
(only) 256 MB DDR ECC Reg.
Geforce 2 Ti 500
Creative Audigy 5.1
etc.. etc..

After I assembled all the components, connected all the cables, and set all the jumpers, I proceeded to power up the computer. It powered up, the fans spun, the cdrom LED lit up, but nothing was displayed on the screen. All I got was lots of black fun. There were no beep codes and the POST did not seem to have completed. After checking all the connections and jumpers, the same thing happened. I have no way of knowing whether the motherboard, RAM, or CPU is at fault. I would appreciate any help that anyone could provide

For knowing if it is not your ram memory, you can take them out, and try to boot the system. But anyway, as you got them now, at least one beep should be heard. Ram could be damaged? Yes. But it is not the cause of your system not booting. Try to see if the processor and motherboard are well atached. Also try to set jumperīs BUS to your correct BUS frecuency, put your mutliplier settings in manual, and play with some different configuratios. If you dont know what iīm talking about, please read more information here in internet.
But, eventually, some hardware maybe damaged. Not for sure, though.

Tried that...know for sure that it is in no way the settings. We are looking at either lack of BIOS compatibility or hardware...

make sure the graphics card is well seated, it needs a firm hand. dont use the PCI slot next to the AGP, as the AGP takes over the first PCI slot.

dont know if you can, ask a friend if you could try the CPUs in there mobo, also the Ram and other stuff.

The AGP is good...and unfortunately, no one around has the MPs ot the Mobo I need to test..

What kind of PSU do you have? Can you give us the amperage for each of the rails?

Is the Clear CMOS jumper in the Normal position?

This sure sounds like either a PSU, CPU or VGA problem. Are you sure you pushed the AGP video card in until you heard a click?

The AGP slot does not click, though it is firmly seated. The CMOS jumperis in correct position, but what is the PSU?

I have read in some newsgroups that your power supply should supply at least 30 amps on the +5V bus for your board. All 420W power supplies I have seen exceed that, so yours is probably OK. Have you checked for short circuits, such as a mounting post under the board in the wrong place?
