View Full Version : Big Drive
A little while ago I posted about a new Seagate drive, a whopping 181GB in one drive, at that time it wasn't quite out yet well now:
Seagate ST1181677LW 5 YEAR FACTORY WARRANTY BARRACUDA 181.6GB 7200RPM ULTRA-160 SCSI WIDE 68 PIN LVD 1.6INCH HIGH $ 1398
So all of you who are hungry for drive space and have a SCSI controller it comes in 68 and 80 pin Ultra formats and has plenty of ROOM!
Almost to big to be believed but there it is......

But will it be enough for WinXP, OfficeXP, and Whatever-is-next XP? http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
Oh well, you could just get two, I guess. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif

imagine defragging it. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/eek.gif
(not that anyone would make all of that their 'working' drive...)
without a swap drive of its own.

Hey Sea,
I thought of you when I saw this...just think how many songs you could fit on it!
I believe that it is primarily for server applications, but I'm sure some people will want it in their home machines. Anyhow, I'lltake two, they're small... http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Would come in handy for ripping dvds...even at the high end they're "only" 8 gb...so you could work on 20+ at a time...

Cool!
I need one for my GRiD 386, looks like DOS 6.22 and Word 5 might just fit, and just maybe a couple of these old games I have on floppies too...
