strange VB problem

My program will run if I get to it through My Computer and follow the path down through Microsoft Visual Studio to the Project1.vpb. It will not run when I get to it through the IDE (Start\Programs\Visual Basic 6.0) It is not a .exe I get an error message that says cannot open database because already opened by another user or don't have permission. This is very strange why the database will open one way, but not the other. Any ideas how I can fix this or what I did to cause it? It was working at one point.

It's not clear if you are trying to open a project (a .vbp file) or the Visual Basic Application VB6.EXE (or both).

If you find the file that is opening the application successfully for you then you could R-click on it and choose Send to Desktop (create shortcut). Then drag this shortcut into the Start<>Programs<>Visual Basic 6.0 Folder.

Thanks for answering Paul. It was so messed up I deleted everything and wrote the program again from scratch. Not very efficient, but it got the job done.
