View Full Version : What is the best CPU and case fan?

I have a PIII chip. What is the best cooling fan out there. (Noise is not an issue) Which case fans are good. I have 3 COMP USA models in there now and I am not happy with them. I would like a fan that does at least 5k RPM.

Im interested in that Vantec Tornado fan 80mm x 38mm. I notice all the others are 80 x 25. Will this one fit in my antec Performance Plus case?

I know of No reason why it shouldn’t
Unless you have very close clearances around the Mounting point of the fan
Or your mounting is done with one of the metal or plastic mounts designed for use with the 80x25 only

You’ll need to inspect the mountings you have and maybe do a little measuring.
I use the 80x25 units X2 for case exhaust fans with good performance and a limited amount of load fan noise in My Antec cases

I am using the purple plastic mounts to hold the fans in place so I guess the difference from the 25mm to the 38 mm will be a problem.

Or you can use a simple screw mount to hold them in place.
I don't see any reason for going to the 38mm myself.

Get a good 80x25 with a higher CFM and let it do the work for you
