IP number

when i post here at the bottom of the post it says IP Logged, my question is, how does the puter make this IP number?

Locally your computer is setup to get assigned an IP when you connect to an ISP/LAN or in some cases you will assign an IP address yourself. With most ISP's unless you are specifically paying for what is called a static IP(stays the same and is assigned to you personally) you are on what is called a dynamic IP. There is a protocal designed to handled this, DHCP(Dynamic Host Configuration Protocal). When you connect to the internet your computer talks to a DHCP server requesting an IP, the server assigns your computer an IP address and your on the internet. When you transmit data the IP is in every packet that leaves your computer.
