maybe in a few years time, we will see MS-WINDOWS-MAC-LINUX os which would have the "power" to run any application of any platform, albeit with (m)any errors :D

P.S. define "power" ...

This is a very scary concept, but I could see MS trying to do something like this. They tend to co-opt most of their competition. The good thing about open source is that I don't think they could put a legal noose around it like they have so many other companies.
