Connection Dropping

I just bought a Netgear Cable/DSL ProSafe VPN Firewall Router. I have it hooked to a cable modem and going to 2 pc's in the same room. One is running XP Pro the other is running XP Home Edition. One computer will constantly drop connection for a second or two then come back. Since we both play online games this is VERY annoying. Any ideas? Oh and its usually the PC in the 1st port that drops.

Try swapping the cables around...if the problem switches to the other machine (follows the cable) then there is where your problem is. Also try another port on the router.

Hang on some of the others will probably have some more ideas....

Well the other pc looses conn too. Its like its choking itself off or something. not sure. :(

Did you swap the cables or did the second machine just start dropping the connection?
