I'm in the process of reducing the fan noise in my case. So far I've got the case fans under control, but the CPU fan is too loud. What I need is a 60mm "quiet" fan. I was hoping someone here could recommend one of the ones I've listed below, or maybe offer another brand/model. I know there is not much difference in the two fans, but I just wanted to see if someone had used one of these before and had something good or bad to say about them. The processor is a Socket 370 Celeron that is not overclocked.
Panaflo 60x60x25.5mm
3200 RPM
14.1 CFM
24.0 dBA
Vantec Stealth 60x60x25mm
2600 RPM
12 CFM
20 dBA

Of the two you listed, I would go with the Panaflo. 24db is not really loud. The Vantec is probably thermostatically controlled, so it may or may not run at a speed sufficient to cool the processor.
The Celly shouldn't run that hot. I suggest you get a 60mm-80mm adapter and use a Panaflo LA1 80mm fan.

Thanks. I'll look into the 60mm-80mm adapter. Your right. The celeron does not run hot. This new fan is for replacing the loud fan that is currently on the heatsink. Just looking for low noise.

try www.quietpc.com. that's where many musicians get their cooling fans from

Another thought is if you have a CompUSA near you, their generic brand HSFs are usually quiet and would cool the Celly quite well.
