I recently upgraded to Win XP (Home). I then had to upgrade Laplink to LL Gold 11. I previously linked both machine via a USB cable after setting up their respective TCP/IP addresses.

In XP, however, I can find no way of setting the addresses, oreven finding out what they are. I have tried running IPCONFIG from the DOS prompt, but that just returns sime sort of heading and no body.

Have I missed some basic setup issue?

Thanks.

As long as your usb connection is seen by XP as a network interface you can change your IP address information by opening your control panel | network connections icon. Then right click the connection that your interested in and choose "properties" from the drop down menu. Now highlight "Internet protocol [tcp/ip]" and chick the"properties" botton. The first page of the new window is where you will setup your IP address.

Good Luck :)

Thanks GH. Your prompting caused the brain cell to kick in. I have now re-installed the the USB Bridge driver which came with the earlier USB cable. Lo and behold, the machines now speak to one another!!:o
