Hi,
I've opened my hard drive to get the spindle motor, but I can't do anything whit it! Does anyone know what to connect in the 4 wires that are on the base of the motor?

Thanks!

If you actually openned the shell of the drive most likely you have killed it. Hard drives are assembled in a clean room environment, as any dust or other particles will cause severe damage to the heads and/or platters. there is also now no warranty to fall back on because damging/removing the stickers that say "Warranty Void if Removed" is a great indicator that it was openned...

Unless your doctorate is in hard drives, your HD is probably toast.

Dr.

Those four wires are "fed" by the
connector that plugs into the rear
of the Harddrive. Which in turn
come from the power supply.

BTW. What did you do with all those
spring "thingies" that popped out of
the Harddrive case?
