Hello there,
I am a new member with a pitiful lack of computer knowlege, I thought you could help me.

While trying to access some cheats for my games I was told to 'start game with command line....'

Please could you tell me what a command line is and where I might find it.

Thanks in advance,
michael.

What game are you wanting to CHEAT  on? Tsk, tsk, tsk.
Try a google search, go here, type in the game name followed by cheat codes.
http://www.google.com

And....Welcome! to the PC(Punish Cheaters)Guide!:p :D

Also depends upon the game...some games need to have the cheat codes enterd into a console when the game is running and others need the code added to the filename when running it from the Run box (command line).

The latter is what I suspect this one wants...

Michael I was only kidding. Go to the icon you click to start the game. Right click on it, then click on "properties". On the shortcut tab look for the line for "Target" . It will say kingpin.exe. Add this after it, leaving one space +developer 1 . Click on apply and close, then start the game with that icon and cheats should be enabled.
Have fun.;)
Remember though, that when each level starts you have to re enter the cheat code, be it god, immortal or what have you.Once you are in the game press the ~ button and type in your cheat then Enter.

You could do it mjc's way and click on the Windows start button then click run and type kingpin.exe +developer 1 and hit enter.
If you do it the first way, you will never have to enter the command line again.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate it very much

And I will do my best to stop my cheating ways (once I've mauled a few gangsters!)

Thanks again,

Actually, I think most game developers design the games with cheats still in them as a sort of "training wheels" mode. It gives you a way to learn the game without becoming too frustrated, but I don't think they intend to let the cheat codes be the normal way the game is played...
