I have recently installed NT 4.0 Workstation to a PC with a 6GB HDD. The HDD was setup in the following manner:

Primary = 2047GB Fat16
Extended= 4GB with a 4GB Fat32 Logical drive located within.

Upon installed NT I converted the primary partition to ntfs. Once everything was installed I tried to access the logical drive marked as D and recieved the following error message:

D:\ is not accessible

The volume does no contain a recognized file system. Please make sure that all required system drivers are loaded and that the volume is not corrupt.

Does anyone have a clue as to why I'm getting this? I've search MS knowledge base but have come up empty handed so far.

NT 4 won't read FAT 32 partitions, FAT 16 and NTFS only. If you want it to see that partition it should have been partitioned as one of those.

You can try the NT installation again, you'll have the partitioning option and can exit the installation afterward with no problems, or you might try Partition Magic.

Of course it can't! I don't know how I overlooked that one...
Thanks, my head was beginning to get sore
