Ok, I'm having weird behavior going on inside that HDD, accessing files is fine, but copying, cutting, pasting, deleting, general moving of files is a little slow its a Maxtor 40K0H2, its an ATA/100 5400 RPM HDD. I have the transfer mode set to UDMA. It is also the same way with my DVD Rom Drive and my 32 read, 8 write, 4 rewrite just a little slow i think they should be faster, here are my complete specs

First and probably only question....do you have indexing turned on?

The indexing function can make finding files ever so slightly faster (if you have many files of that don't change much), but it can slow down many file functions like moving and copying while the index gets updated. And it on a resonably fast PC the speed increase in find functions does not equal the performance hit elsewhere.
