Hi everyone, i was in my dinner table the other night and my son spilled coke in my Toshiba laptop, now the screen is blank (i can't see any thing),but the green light is on. What can i do? i tryed to open the laptop and is locked and i don't have the key to open it. how can i open this laptop?????? please reply ASAP.....Thanks..

There must be a PC shop around there somewhere, I can pretty much tell you that just going into the inside and whipping the coke off is not going to work. The PC shop if reliabe will beable to tell you if it can be fixed or not. They should give you a assesment of the damages before preforming any work.

Yes, I'm afraid that's bad news-
Even if the laptop was off..(Was it?) There is still power to it so most likely you fried something. I seriously doubt it's something you can fix yourself.
Sometimes, if electronics gets wet, I will work if it's allowed to completely dry out before power is applied.
Even that is fairly rare, depending on the equipment, as there are components like capacitors that hold charges long after power is removed.

Does it actually boot up now that it's dry with just a black screen, or is there no post at all?

No, it does not post, when i turn it on the Hard drive spins like is working and the green light is on all the times, but i can't see any thing and i can't ear any beeps at all.

You may be able to rescue the HD, but you may not be able to save the laptop. Either way, taking it to computer techs is probably necessary.
