We have a Linksys BEFW11S4 Wireless Router in our home and sometimes it works great others not so. My wife's PC in the bedroom had a wireless USB adapter on it. It worked great for about 1 day and then all of sudden when she tried to connect to cable/internet the PC would re-boot. Then our phones started acting up. They would ring once and hang up. We ran a cable to the bedroom and took the wireless USB adapter out. Now she has no problems getting connected. It seems the 2.4 Ghz phone didn't like the wireless network stuff in the same room. When we unplugged it all the other phones works (they are not 2.4 GHz). Is this a common problem with cordless phones and wireless routers? My sons laptop has a wireless card in it and sometimes he gets right in others it takes two or three tries. What causes that? Thanks in advance for your ideas and suggestions......:)

You are pretty much right on with the devices being able to interfere with each other, but you should be able to play around with the channels that they use and minimize the interference.

I mentioned in another post recently regarding a neighbor who has the 2.4Ghz cordless phones. Everytime the microwave starts he loses signal. I recently talked to V-Tech who informed me that they are coming out with a 5.66Ghz soon. Perhaps this is just an upgrade...or a realization that there's too much interference with that frequency?

The neighbor's phones are Siemens. Actually, the phones we have are 2.4 and we do experience mild interference with the microwave running...but not enought to dump the call as with the neighbor.
