How webpage coming to Client's PC

I want to know how particular webpage is coming to our PC.
(we consider already having internet connection)

If we entered the web address in our PC[which is in Chennai, India]
(for eg : http://www.hotmail.com), how hotmail's index page is coming to our pc.

What process is going on in background? how it is fetching the corresponding webpage. (internally)

If anybody know about this, kindly explain the flow of the same.
