I got a website off this message board a while back that directed me to the admin icon to shut down shut down certain programs on Windows XP to help it become quicker and more efficient. Basically so it wouldnt be such a resource hog and would make XP run faster.
The site showed me what background programs I could safely shut down and what they were for.
I know this is very vague but if anyone has a clue please direct me to the website.
Thanx, Rob

Close, unless he changed his format in the past 3 months. I thought it was from overclockers.com but I might have looked in the wrong spot.
Thanx for the link.

Hi Rob94hawk
Even if "BlackViper" wasn't the site you had in mind, it is really a great site. I have used it for XP also.
He is well known and has appeared on several tech shows...Great "XP "configuration page"! (http://www.blkviper.com/WinXP/servicecfg.htm)
For some more reading, HERE (http://www.pcguide.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=15314) is an older thread with a bunch of tweak sites that may include the one you had in mind...Enjoy! ;)
